Vintage Poster - OBRAZKI ZZYCIA

Polish Vintage Movie Poster for the American Comedy “Obrazki z zycia” (Life in Pictures) designed by Jakub Erol.

A classic example of bold polish movie poster design by Jakub Erol, one of the most sought after and collected polish movie poster designers of the era, would suit any interior.

Jakub Erol in the world of poster art has created an individual and recognisable style, full of surprising ideas, surrealist forms and a master technique. Erol was an illustrator, poster and graphic designer born in 1941 in Zamość.

He graduated from Warsaw Fine Art Academy (ASP) in 1968, where he was a student of prof. Henryk Tomaszewski (who created over 1000 posters).

Beginning in the 1950s and through the 1980s (before the era of globalised entertainment-made movie posters) which now look the same in every country, Polish artists were creating their own versions for the internal market. What resulted was a whole school of artists trained in the art of the poster.
