'Folklore' Screenprint - BLACK/YELLOW

Our black and yellow ‘Folklore’ screen print is a unique striking abstract design, created using a collage technique with torn paper and printed shapes combined, and silk screen printed on to fine print making paper.

This version of our ‘Folklore’ abstract wall art is printed in 2 colours by turning the printed paper 360° and repeating the design again in a second colour creating a unique colour overlaid print.

The design can be interpreted as a scene or even figurative in form, being inspired by a stripped back Mid Century Modern style of design.

Bauhaus architects and designers who migrated to America as a result of economic changes in Germany after the second World War started the design movement known as Mid-Century Modern. It's characterised by simplicity and functionality. While there is some disagreement about when the period started, it roughly lasted from the mid-1930s to mid-1960s. The timeless quality of the style, however, continues to appeal to today's homeowners.

A paired back design that looks great with any set of wall prints or as a standalone piece.

Printed in 2 colours by hand using centuries-old traditional silkscreen printing techniques in Bournemouth UK, giving each print a tactile, colour-rich quality, with natural imperfections.
